Melamine scandal

It breaks my heart everytime when I see a photo of a child suffering from drinking those tainted milk with melamine. Today I saw another 2 year old boy who is hooked up with tubes to his body because he is suffering from kidney stones. I pray that all those children will get better soon and continue with their normal lives.

After this ordeal, I think all countries which has food manufacturing should comply to a global policy. A policy that would hold a country accountable. For example, if a manufacturer of a particular country dropped the ball, and if the incident is severe enough, all food exported from that country should be banned until the matter is resolved.
I think this is the only way to make a potentially corrupted government to be responsible for the actions of their own local corporations or manufacturers.

I believe this policy will be more effective towards developing countries. History can attest to this fact because accountability is often the last thing to be concern about when a country has been oppressed by poverty. I supposed this is understandable but this is where the government must step in and must be accountable for the actions of its own citizens.
