Embarrassing moment for Canadian Olympic athletes

Martin Gilbert had to borrow a bicycle from the Malaysian team because his bicycle broke down. According to this article, http://olympics.thestar.com/2008/article/478869, there could have been 3 Canadian manufacturers, which Martin had contacted, whom can supply the race bikes that he needs. Sigh! Once again, this incident shows how little focus and resource Canada gives to our athletes.

We are about 8 days into the 2008 Olympic and Canada is still in a medal drought. But if I was one of the Canadian athletes, I would feel more embarrassed about the lack of support from our own country then not winning any medals.

I just hope that Canada will not make the same mistake with 2010 Winter Olympics which will be held in Whistler, BC in Canada.
